These beautifully machined durable log lap sleepers require no treatment due to the natural longevity of the materials used. Douglas Fir and British Larch are the hardiest of all domestic softwoods and are interchangeable in both appearance and durability.
Half log lap 194x44mm has a single tongue and groove so that they simply slot together with fewer fixing requirements and can be used for constructing raised beds, flower borders, lawn edgings and to clad garden buildings where heat retention and sound insulation are a requirement.
We also offer thinner matchboard cladding where the thermal and acoustic benefits are not a priority.
Full log lap sleepers in 194x94mm have a dual tongue and groove profile which helps with stability and limits fixing requirements. The loglap sleeper can be used to build large garden structures including summer houses and loglap style cabins plus larger dimension raised beds and edgings. The strength and rigidity of this material means that they can even be used to build structures without requiring any structural framework. The loglap sleepers are themselves the structure, they can be laid in an offset manner like standard bricks to tie in and achieve maximum rigidity also. The only requirement is for a post at each corner.
