We would highly recommend getting samples before ordering a bigger quantity, as seeing and touching the timber itself gives much more insight than any picture on the website.

What timber cladding do you stock?
We have one of the widest variety of cladding boards available on-line. This includes British Larch, Douglas Fir, Air Dried Oak, Green Fresh Sawn Oak, Kiln Dried Oak, Kiln Dried Siberian Larch, Redwood Thermowood, Radiata Pine Thermowood and Solid Ash. Available profiles include: featheredge, rebated featheredge, shiplap, tongue and groove, V tongue and groove, half lap, shadow gap, board on board, rain screen and channel siding.
How much does timber cladding cost?
Our prices start from £28.49 + VAT per pack for British Larch and Redwood Thermowood external profiles, rising to £53.49 + VAT per pack for kiln dried oak options. The pricing for our Radiata Pine Thermowood starts from £49.99 + VAT per pack. As always, our prices depend on the species, profile, section size and grade you are going for. Can I get some samples before ordering?
Of course you can. We supply up to two samples of timber cladding for a flat rate of £5 postage charge, which is fully refundable when you purchase your cladding boards. Getting to see the timber itself gives you a much clearer vision of the product and allows to make the right choice of profile and species.
What's the difference between First Grade and Character Grade?
First Grade is selected for its clearest boards with straight and consistent grain, while Character Grade is selected among our top four quality grades and includes natural variations - knots, colour variation and grain pattern, which many of our customers prefer for their projects. Both grades have identical durability and weather resistance.
Do I need to treat my cladding boards?
There is no need to treat British Larch and Oak boards as they have natural resistance to decay and rotting. Without treatments, they will weather to beautiful silver-grey patina while keeping their protective properties intact. If you want to preserve original colour, Treatex UV oils can be used. As for Thermowood (Redwood and Radiata Pine) boards, there is absolutely no need to treat them either. In case of using less resistant softwoods, you should use our Treatex treatment.
When is the best time to install external cladding?
The optimal period is from October to April, and ideally within 7-14 days after delivery. Boards of British Larch and other fresh sawn external boards are susceptible to cupping, warping and splitting in case they are left in summer weather conditions before being installed. Installing your boards in cooler, more damp months is the best way to stabilise moisture content in boards and give them the best start.
Can you cut boards to specific lengths?
Yes, we can do that. While our standard boards are in the random lengths between 1,200mm and 3,600mm, we can mill boards to any length you require. Custom cutting might incur extra costs, although in most cases it is worth having for large projects, to eliminate the wastage. Just give us a call on 01536 267107 to discuss your requirements.
